FAQ

Choosing a tool

What’s the difference between a social media API and a scheduler?

A scheduler is a dashboard where people plan and publish posts. A social media API lets code, or an AI assistant through an MCP server, publish for you. Several schedulers now add an API, and SocialHelper offers both a dashboard and an API.

Which tool is cheapest?

SocialHelper is free during early access. Among the others, Buffer and Publer have free plans for a few accounts, and Upload-Post has a free plan with 10 uploads a month. Prices change, so check each tool’s pricing page.

Which tools work with ChatGPT or Claude?

Those with an MCP server: SocialHelper, Postiz, Ayrshare, Upload-Post, Blotato, and Publer on its Business plan; Buffer lists one too. ChatGPT and Claude only connect to servers you can sign in to. SocialHelper and Upload-Post both support that; for the others, check their docs.

How were these facts collected?

From each tool’s own pricing page on October 17, 2026. Where a page doesn’t mention something, the table says so rather than guessing.
