Ask Claude about your Search Console data
Connect Google Search Console to Claude and get answers about your clicks, queries and pages in plain words.
2 minute read By SocialHelper team
Search Console has the answers to most “how are we doing on Google?” questions, but getting them out means picking dates, adding filters and exporting to a spreadsheet. If you connect Search Console and Claude to SocialHelper, you can ask instead, and Claude runs the report for you.
Set it up once
- Connect Search Console. In the SocialHelper dashboard, open Accounts, connect Google Search Console and sign in with the Google account that has access to your sites. One connection covers every property that Google account can see.
- Connect Claude. Add SocialHelper as a custom connector in Claude, sign in and pick the same team. The Claude guide has each step.
- Check it works. Ask Claude: “Which Search Console sites can you see?” It should list your properties.
What Claude can look up
The Search Console connection gives Claude four tools:
- Search analytics: clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position, grouped by query, page, country, device, date and more, with filters.
- URL inspection: whether Google has indexed a page, when it last crawled it, which canonical it chose, and any rich result or mobile issues.
- Sitemaps: the sitemaps you’ve submitted, with their errors and warnings.
- Sites: the properties you can access and your permission on each.
All four only read. Claude can’t change anything in Search Console.
Questions worth asking
A few that work well, and what Claude does with them:
- “What were our top 20 search queries in the last 28 days, by clicks?” A search analytics report grouped by query.
- “Which pages lost the most clicks this month compared with last month?” Two reports grouped by page, compared.
- “Which queries do we rank between 5 and 15 for with lots of impressions?” Pages people already see often but rarely click are good candidates for a rewrite.
- “Is our new pricing page indexed?” A URL inspection with the reason if it isn’t.
- “How do we do on mobile compared with desktop?” A report grouped by device.
Search Console’s data usually runs two to three days behind, so “this week” will be missing the last couple of days. Claude can include the newest, still incomplete numbers if you ask for them.
From a report to a post
The same connector can publish, so a report can lead straight into a post. For example:
Find our blog post that got the most new clicks this month, write a LinkedIn post that points people to it, and show me before posting.
Claude runs the report, reads the winning page, drafts the post, checks it against LinkedIn’s limits and waits for your go-ahead.
Other data you can connect
Google Analytics and Google Ads connect the same way, and Claude can combine them, such as “which landing pages got the most sessions from organic search last week?”. The data tools page lists every connected source and its reports.
