Publishing
Media
Upload images and video, or import them from a URL.
Upload a file, or import one from a URL, then attach its ID to a post. You can attach up to 20 files to one post.
Upload a file
POST /api/v1/media as multipart/form-data with a file field, and optional alt_text (up to 1,000 characters).
curl https://socialhelper.app/api/v1/media \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SOCIALHELPER_API_KEY" \
-F "[email protected]" \
-F "alt_text=Our new dark mode"
Import from a URL
Send url instead of file and SocialHelper downloads it. The URL must be public (http or https); every redirect is checked too, up to 3 redirects.
curl https://socialhelper.app/api/v1/media \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SOCIALHELPER_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"url": "https://example.com/launch.png",
"alt_text": "Our new dark mode"
}'
Types and sizes
- Accepted types: JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, MP4, MOV, WEBM.
- Up to 60 MB per file.
- The type is detected from the file’s contents, not its name or headers.
- Each platform then applies its own limits when you post, such as fewer images, smaller files or no video. They’re checked before anything is sent and listed on each platform page.
