Reference
Rate limits
Requests per minute and the headers that report them.
Each API key can make 120 requests a minute. REST and MCP calls made with the same key share that allowance.
Headers
-
X-RateLimit-Limitheader - Requests allowed per minute.
-
X-RateLimit-Remainingheader - Requests left in the current minute.
-
Retry-Afterheader - On a 429: seconds to wait before trying again.
-
X-RateLimit-Resetheader - On a 429: when the limit resets, as a Unix timestamp.
Over the limit
Requests over the limit get 429 with {"message": "Too Many Attempts."}. Wait for Retry-After seconds, then try again. When retrying a post, keep the same Idempotency-Key.
Other limits
- Up to 50 accounts and 20 media files in one post.
- Media files up to 60 MB.
- Posts scheduled up to 1 year ahead.
- Each platform’s own limits on text, images and video, listed on its platform page.
