Accounts
Keep accounts connected
Why an account loses access, how to reconnect it, and how to remove one.
A connected account keeps working on its own: SocialHelper renews access in the background. Sometimes a platform ends that access, and the account needs you to sign in again. This page shows how to spot that, reconnect, and remove an account you no longer use.
Why an account loses access
- You changed the account’s password, or removed SocialHelper in the platform’s app settings.
- Some platforms ask people to sign in again every so often. The account shows the date when that’s coming.
- The platform’s own security checks ended the session.
How you know
- The Overview and Accounts pages show One account needs to be reconnected, and the sidebar shows a red count next to Accounts.
- The account is labelled Needs reconnect, with the reason the platform gave.
- The team owner gets an email: Reconnect your [platform] account.
- When a platform will end access on a known date, the account says Reconnect by that date, and the owner gets a reminder email before it.
Reconnect an account
- Click Accounts in the sidebar.
- Click Reconnect next to the account.
- Sign in to the platform with the same account and approve every permission.
The label changes back to Connected. Scheduled posts for the account are kept and go out as planned. A post that already failed doesn’t retry itself: open it and use Post again.
An account can also show Reconnect to allow with a feature name. It still posts; reconnect once when convenient to turn on that feature.
Remove an account
- On the Accounts page, click the … menu next to the account.
- Click Disconnect, then confirm.
To use it again later, connect it as a new account.
Only the team’s owner and admins can reconnect or remove accounts.
